The Faith and Spiritual Growth Series was JYC's June 2026 teaching arc - four gatherings across the month, alternating between Sunday services and Saturday evening Bible studies, each exploring a different facet of walking with God: everyday faith, learning from those who came before, discerning God's voice, and staying rooted in worship and prayer.
The design brief was cohesion without repetition. Each piece needed its own visual identity to match its message, but the four had to read as one series when placed together.
A single type stack, a consistent accent color, and a fixed eyebrow label held the system together while imagery carried the emotional variation - motion for "Everyday Faith," a shared journey for "Heroes of the Faith," quiet attention for "Hearing God's Voice," and stillness for "Rooted."
One layout logic across all four pieces: eyebrow label pinned top-left, title and subtitle in the mid-left area, event details bottom-left, church brand marks anchored in the bottom-left corner. The right two-thirds belonged to imagery, always giving the message a scene to inhabit.
The one intentional break was "Rooted" - the closing piece of the series. It shifted from horizontally-set title-case to centered display uppercase, letting the final week feel like an arrival rather than a continuation of the same rhythm.
Each piece was designed at 16:9 for the church's in-service projection displays, with left-column text architecture that scaled down cleanly to portrait format for Instagram and WhatsApp announcements.
The consistent left-anchored composition wasn't just aesthetic — it made the whole system portable. What worked at 1920×1080 on a projection screen worked at 1080×1350 on an Instagram feed, without needing to rethink the hierarchy.
